So I went through some of my old computer science lecture materials and I found this .pdf on how Google search functions. Hope this helps, even though it may be difficult to understand some of the computer jargon.

Just finished reading the article. Urge everyone to check it out. It's a little on the computy-language side but if you really read it, you can pick out some good information on how it works.
